Wow. 2017 is nearing the end yet people everywhere have just gotten used to writing 2017 rather than 2016. And now we’ve got to deal with a new number and new year! Oh adulting. All jokes aside, a lot of significant things transpired in the last 12 months:
+I was able to start collaborating with a local farm to develop recipes for their CSA members. And if I’m being honest, it’s been really amazing!
+I started working with another farm on a freelance basis to run their blog and take photographs. Though I love visiting the farm every week one of the best things about it has been that it’s pushed me waaaayyyy out of my comfort zone with my photography. I’ve photographed goats, chickens, and all manner of subjects out in the elements as opposed to rather meticulously styled set-ups in my house.
+Outside of work I had to deal with a skin cancer diagnosis and the new reality of being even more careful and conscious of my fair skin. I added 5 new scars and lost 3 lymph nodes in the process.
+I re-launched the baked goods side of Sweet Miscellany after 3 plus years off.
+I cooked for three very different but very amazing yoga retreats.
+I survived the epic disaster known as Hurricane Harvey.
+And last but not least, I got to keep creating and sharing recipes here with you on the blog. Here’s a look at my absolute favorites from the past year:
Have a safe and magical New Year’s whether you spend it at a fancy party or snuggled up at home in your jammies! See you back here in 2018 <3
