Sweet and tart with a touch of spice, this cranberry mocktail with blood orange and ginger beer comes together with just 4 main ingredients in 5 minutes or less! This easy vegan mocktail’s ruby hue makes it perfect for the holidays, especially with a green sprig of fresh mint.

As soon as Halloween passes, I begin CRAVING citrus and cranberries! In order to easily get my fix, I whipped up this super easy cranberry mocktail. Pure cranberry and blood oranges juices are mixed together with a dash of vanilla extract and a healthy pour of ginger beer. The resulting mocktail is sweet and tart with a little hint of cozy vanilla and warming spices from the ginger beer. It comes together in absolutely no time at all, even with squeezing your own blood orange juice. This non-alcoholic tipple is great for enjoying any time of day and is well-suited for festive holiday meals. I hope you enjoy it!

Notes on Ingredients and Substitutions

Make sure that you get 100% pure cranberry juice rather than “cranberry cocktail” as the latter has sugar added and in my opinion, makes the mocktail too sweet. Want to make your own cranberry juice? Try this tutorial and leave out the honey! If blood oranges aren’t available, you can use navel, Cara Cara, or Valencia oranges instead for a similar flavor. I love the spicy kick from ginger beer here but if you want a less potent ginger flavor and an overall sweeter drink, you can use ginger ale instead. All of the garnishes are entirely optional so feel free to use what you already have rather than buying an entire bag of cranberries only to use a handful!

Batching This Easy Mocktail for a Crowd

Rather than mixing up one single drink at a time, this mocktail can very easily be made in a larger batch for a crowd. Here’s how to make a large pitcher with 8-12 servings (depending on the size of your glasses):

  • Add 2 cups of cranberry juice, 3 cups of blood orange juice, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract to a large pitcher and stir well to incorporate. Cover and chill until ready to use.
  • Right before serving, add 3 cups of ginger beer (or ginger ale if you prefer) and give it a gentle stir.
  • Serve over ice and add a simple garnish of mint if you like.

More Holiday Mocktails

Citrus-based mocktails are super refreshing and perfect for the holidays as winter citrus comes into season! For mojito vibes without the alcohol, try my lemon mojito mocktail. It’s bright, fresh, and effervescent and perfect for all ages to enjoy. If you love herbal flavors in drinks, I highly recommend my sparkling sage lemonade for something a little unexpected. A quick and easy sage simple syrup lends an earthy flavor that pairs really well with the tart lemon. If you’re a grapefruit lover, you should absolutely try my grapefruit rosemary mocktail. The prep is slightly more involved compared to this one but it’s honestly my favorite mocktail I’ve ever shared here!

Units Scale
  • 2 ounces pure cranberry juice
  • 3 ounces blood orange juice, squeezed from 1-2 blood oranges

  • 1 sprig fresh mint, optional for garnish
  • 1 handful fresh cranberries, optional for garnish

Instructions

Add the cranberry juice, blood orange juice, and vanilla extract to a rocks glass (or any glass that is 11 ounces or larger). Stir well to combine.

I love the balance of flavors in this drink. It was tart with the delicious spiciness of the ginger beer. I think I found my favorite seasonal drink right now.
